We’ve been busy all weekend long. We’ve had the pleasure of providing a photo booth at 3 events this past Labor Day Weekend. All of them were weddings and all of them were very Upscale and beautiful weddings.

Shirley Acres Photo Booth Rental on Friday September 4th 2009

The first wedding was at Shirley Acres where we provided a photo booth on Friday September 4th, 2009. People still get such a kick out of the photo booth. Young and Old, everyone that goes into the photo booth cannot help but either smile or burst out laughing at themselves. Add to that natural fun the power of Party Props and you can just imagine the laughter and fun that people get by experiencing their photo booth session. Sometimes 4 photos are not enough so of course the come back for more…

Kim Son on Bellaire Photo Booth Rental on Saturday September 5th 2009

This event was attended by my Brother Tony so I cannot share with you all anything about the booth except for the number of pictures that were taken and a link to view the pictures… Regardless, I imagine it was as fun as any other event that rents our photo booths.

Agave Road Photo Booth Rental on Sunday September 6th 2009

This party was so much fun, since the minute the photo booth was announced the Loooooong line started to form. People immediately ran over (yes some did actually run over to the photo booth) and started to form a line, before you know it there were over 40 people in the line, all waiting their turn to experience a photo booth session. The bride on this event provided her own set of props which ranged from something I would never have imagined, a diver’s mask, to some nice and creative rice hats, to some very fun bride and groom sock puppets.

We have modified the photo booth and created something new and a little bit more appealing and WEDDING READY.

The New Photo Booth, which we are naming the Texas Sized Party Booth looks much more like a traditional photo booth but still, portability is our primary concern. It’s really hard to combine Good looks, portability, durability, and ease of use and make something easy to set up.

I have a background in CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) so it was easy to conceive an idea and put it to good use.

The end result?

A great looking, portable photo booth that you can rent out at your next event.

People love the photo booth and the hosts, the people who rent the photobooth, are very grateful and glad they rented the photobooth.

We still get questions over and over on how the photobooth works. Once I explain how it works they feel a lot better about renting it out. I guess it’s normal, this is still a new phenomenon and people want to make sure it works exactly like the ones at the malls. Of course, they also want to know what their options are and approximately how many pictures will they get in a 2 hour session.

We are still getting the comments; “what a neat idea, we have never seen one of these before.” And as stated earlier; “The photo booth was a great success. We are sure glad we decided to rent it. EVERYONE just loved it and waited in (a long) line to take their pictures.”

The requests for the photo booth keep piling up on a day to day basis. Everyone wants to see how the photo booth looks like and everyone wants to know the availability of the booth for their event. Most events that these are in demand for are weddings and I have a few that want the photo booth for birthday parties, one an adult birthday party and a few children parties.

A couple of things about this photo booth. It is a standing photo booth, which means you can save A LOT OF TIME walking in striking a pose and firing the photo sequence away. As opposed to the sit down photo booths, where you walk in, sit down, get ready and start firing the photo shooting sequence. It may seem like a simple, timeless step, but add up the seconds that that takes and multiply it by the number of sessions (approx 60 sessions an hour) and you save a lot of time. If it takes you an average of 5 seconds to sit down and get situated, comfortable, and aligned… then you just lost approx 5 (five) sessions an hour. That’s not 5 people that lost their time in the photo booth, but up to 20.

Also, by standing up, you can allow more people to fit inside the booth and take a picture, comfortable. We recommend that the max group that goes into the photo booth be 4, but up to 8 can fit. TRY THAT on a normal, sitting photo booth!

1. Use any digital camera
2. Place it in a tripod or any flat surface (Make sure it can capture everything)
3. Set it to automatic / timer picture; I would recommend 10 Seconds
4. Start the Camera Timer (Usually by pressing the Shutter Button on your camera)
5. Pose and Hold
6. (Repeat Steps 4 and 5 for at least 4 Times)
7. Save the Pictures to your PC (transfer them from your camera to your PC)
8. Use a Free Picture Strip Template from www.sugarplumpaperie.com
9. Use any Image Editing Software to place your pictures on the Photo Strip (Photoshop, The Gimp, etc…)
10. Print! You are Done!

Sure, it’s a little more complicated and time consuming, but It will be a lot of fun, almost as much fun as renting a photo booth.
